Step 1:
Draw out your pattern. It helped me to number the shapes and keep everything in order.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Step 2:
Using your ruler, start drawing your shapes onto your box.

Cut it out, girlfriend.

Step 4:
Once everything is cut and numbered, lay it out to resemble your sketch. Take a good look at it before busting out the fabric.  You might want to make some revisions!

I ended up taking a few shapes out of my design. That poor triangle never stood a chance!

Step 5:
Lay your cardboard (face down) on your scrap fabric (face down) and cut around it with at least an inch or so to spare.
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAHere you have a choice of glue or staples. I chose staples. Make sure you have a stapler that allows you to pull the bottom away, so the staples don’t fold onto the front of your shape.

-I learned that the best way to staple is top and bottom first, and then left and right. It makes the fabric much easier to work with.

Step 6:
Once everything is covered and stapled/glued, lay it out and look at it one more time.

Step 7:
Hang it up! OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Now, doesn’t that look just darling?
